AA and Turkish Airlines implement a Codeshare Agreement to Expand Global Connectivity
Johannesburg, South Africa – 15 July 2026 - South African Airways (SAA) and Turkish Airlines (TK) are pleased to announce that their codeshare agreement, signed on 4 December 2025 in Geneva, will officially take effect on 15 July 2026. This strategic partnership will enhance connectivity between Africa, Türkiye, and key global destinations, offering passengers greater choice and convenience.

Agreement Highlights
  • Turkish Airlines will place its TK flight code on SAA-operated services between Johannesburg and Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Windhoek, Harare, Victoria Falls, and Mauritius.
  • South African Airways will place its SA flight code on Turkish Airlines-operated services between Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Istanbul, Paris, London, and Frankfurt.
Through this collaboration, customers will benefit from seamless travel options via the Johannesburg and Istanbul hubs, improved connectivity across both airlines’ networks, and enhanced access to major destinations worldwide.

Tickets will be available for sale from 15 July 2026, with flights commencing on 16 July 2026. Both airlines will continue to explore opportunities for deeper cooperation, including strategic route development and expanded network integration.
