Bahamas Paradise Cruise - Bahamian COVID Protocols Update

← Back

Dear Professional Travel Advisor:
We recently announced a new policy relating to all sailings aboard Grand Classica beginning September 2, 2021, through the sailing of October 31, 2021, which depart from the Port of Palm Beach. Please share this information with clients who may be sailing with us during this time.
The Bahamian Government recently announced new protocols requiring any visitors, 12 years and older, to be fully vaccinated. Due to this requirement, we will now be requiring all guests, 12 years and older, to be fully vaccinated on all sailings beginning September 2, 2021, through October 31, 2021.
All fully vaccinated guests 12 years and older will be asked to present their original CDC vaccination card at the pier upon embarkation. Photocopies or pictures of vaccination cards will not be accepted. Additionally, all vaccinated guests over 12 years of age will need to provide either negative PCR tests or negative Antigen test results not more than 72 hours before sailing.
Guests will be considered fully vaccinated if they have received their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines (or their single dose, such as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine), at least 14 days prior to the cruise. Vaccinated guests (if they provide proof of testing 72 hours before) are no longer required to take the Antigen test at the port prior to embarkation.
This is a significant change to our current testing policy and is applicable only for sailings between September 2nd and October 31st, 2021.
Any guests who are unable or unwilling to show proof of vaccination will be denied boarding. The Bahamian Government is only accepting vaccinated guests during this timeframe. For the safety of all our guests and crew, we are only accepting fully vaccinated guests regardless of embarkation port.
Guests under 12 (aged 2-11 years) who are currently ineligible for the vaccine can still cruise if they provide a negative PCR test at least 72 hours prior to sailing and undergo an Antigen test at the port of Palm Beach prior to embarkation. The cost of this Antigen test is $35 per person, non-refundable and payable to a 3rd party vendor, on-site. If guests are unable to provide a PCR test one can be performed at the port. The cost for this is $120 per person non-refundable and payable to the 3rd party vendor, on-site.
Guests embarking in Freeport will need to have tests performed locally prior to embarkation. There is no testing facility at the Freeport Terminal.
Guests that are 12 years and older and currently booked beginning September 2, 2021, through and including sailings of October 31, 2021, and are not fully vaccinated and will not be vaccinated 14 days prior to the cruise are eligible to have their booking protected and moved to a new sail date from November 1st, 2021. Please email us at with the new sailing date and we will make the necessary changes and send a new confirmation. This is the simplest way to make the change.
Children under 2 years do not need to provide negative tests results or wear a mask inside the ship.
For Cruise and Stay guests or for One-Way guests, the same policy applies, plus guests will need to provide a copy of the Bahamas Travel Health Visa prior to embarkation. If guests are unable to provide a copy of the Travel Health Visa, they will be denied boarding as mandated by the Bahamian Government.
For Bahamian One-Way guests, the same policy applies. All guests must be vaccinated and provide negative test results and the Bahamas Travel Health Visa. Failure to do so will result in guests being denied boarding.
All guests that require tests for pre-boarding at West Palm Beach can register here at least 24 hours prior to sailing. All guests must arrive at the testing site by 3:30 p.m. to provide ample time to conduct antigen tests and check in prior to boarding. All guests must be on board by 4:00 p.m.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. Thank you for your continued support during these unprecedented times and we look forward to welcoming you and your clients on board soon.
Best Regards,
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Sales Team
